About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and autonomous Part-Time Physician Assistant (PA) to provide high-acuity in-home care to patients across Brooklyn. This unique role blends the fast-paced nature of urgent care with the personalized approach of house calls, offering you the autonomy to practice with comprehensive support. You'll work independently from a myLaurel-equipped vehicle, supported by remote physician oversight and real-time clinical collaboration tools, making a tangible difference in people's lives every day.
What You'll Do:
- Perform comprehensive in-home clinical assessments and focused physical exams.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as labs, EKGs, and bedside diagnostics (e.g., POCUS).
- Administer acute treatments, including IV fluids, advanced wound care, and splinting.
- Communicate seamlessly with referring clinicians and coordinate follow-up care.
- Apply palliative principles and contribute to patient-centered care planning.
- Provide vital patient and caregiver education and empowerment.
- Collaborate in clinical quality improvement (QI) efforts and team learning initiatives.
Who You Are:
- Currently an Active NY State Physician Assistant (PA) license (required) with BLS certification (ACLS a plus).
- Possess 2+ years of clinical experience in high-acuity settings such as urgent care, emergency department (ED), or hospital medicine.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills and comfort working autonomously in the field.
- Excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence.
- Physically able to manage stairs and navigate multi-level homes.
- Passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a home environment.
- Flexible and available for varied part-time shifts, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
